II CHRONICLES CHAPTER 24

Welcome to the the beginning years of eigtht centuryB.C., the year is 782B.C., and we find the Nation of the House of Israel divided into two separate Nations: The House of Israel consisting of ten TribesReuben, Simeon, Levi, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Ephraim and Manassehoccupying the Northern territories; and the House of Judah which comprises two TribesJudah and Benjaminand occupying the southern territories. At present, the House of Israel has as its king, king Jehu, and the House of Judah is ruled by the evil, godless Athaliahdaughter of Ahab and Jezebel of the House of Israel, wife of the now deceased Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat, and mother of the now deceased Ahaziahwho had murdered all the seed-royal in order to sit upon the throne. As we are reading in the The Books of the Chronicles, we are reading things in the Esoteric, meaning, we are reading things from Fathers point of view or perspective, or in other words, events viewed from the Divine standpoint, and as seen and understood by the spiritual mind, to take that further, you could say, from the moral aspect, and you could go even further and say, for those with the eyes to see. The reason Father split the Nation into two separate Nations was because of the actions of Israels third man-king, Davids son, Solomonas can be read in I Kings 11:1-11taking unto himself many foreign wives, served their false gods and idols, built altars for those false gods and idols on Fathers Holy mountain, turned his back on Father, which angered Father and caused Father to tell him that He was splitting the Nation into two separate Nations, but not until Solomon returned Home to Him and his son Rehoboam took over the reign and rule of the Nation.

II Chronicles 23 opened with the High Priest Jehoiada having had enough of Athaliahs godlessness. He therefore strengthened himself and summoned the Captains of hundreds to come to himself in Fathers House. He then sent these men throughout all the cities of Judah to gather the Levites, the Priests, and the leaders of all the cities and to bring them to him in Fathers House. Once they were all there, he made every one of these men swear an oath of secrecy. Having agreed to and sworn, Jehoiada then revealed that he had kept hidden for the past six years, a young boy named Joash, the youngest son of Ahaziah, the rightful and true heir to the throne of the House of Judah. He then charged these men that they should arm themselves and continue to watchover and protect Joash until such time that he was ready to sit the young lad upon the throne. When it was time, he brought the young king into the midst of Fathers House, anointed and crowned him and the People clapped and shouted with joy, blew trumpets and sang songs. Upon hearing this great noise, Athaliah became curious and went to see what the commotion was about. She was shocked to see that there was a new king of the House of Judah and immediately cried treason, treason, or in the Hebrew tongue, conspiracy, conspiracy. Jehoiada then commanded the Priests that they should carry her out of Fathers House and slay heryes brethren, you heard correctly, the High Priest of Father YHVH commanded hisHisPriests that they should slay Athaliah, this is not murder, it is a rightful and Just slaying. Jehoiada next commanded his Priests that they should seek out and slay all thiose who stood with Athaliah, and then he commanded that they go to the house of baal, remove all the Dedicated Things which had been looted from Fathers House by Ahab and Jezebel, Jehoram and Athaliah and Ahaziah, slay Mattan the high priest of baal, and then destroy the house of baal. After the completion of all this, Jehoiada and Joash set about to return the Peoples hearts the worship of Father YHVH. The Chapter closed with Athaliah now dead, therefore, the land of the Nation of the House of Judah now having peace and rest.

With that introduction being said, lets go to Father and ask Him for His Blessings on our Study of His Word: Father, I come to You right now and ask that You Oh LORD Lead me and Guide me as I try and teach Your Word, dont allow me to mis-teach or mis-lead Your Children. We, Father, also come to You as a group who desire to Learn Your Word, to thank You for inviting us to Your table in order that we might be able to partake of and receive Your Spiritual Meat, and Father, as we prepare to dine on the sustenance which sustains our inner man, we ask that You Oh LORD open our ears and eyes, that we might be able to hear and see your Truths, open our hearts and minds and prepare us in order that we may receive Your Truth. We Pray for Your Understanding of Your Word, we seek Your Knowledge in Your Word, and most importantly Father, we Pray for and desire Your Wisdom from Your Word, in Jesus Precious name we Pray, thank You Father, Amen.

1A1
II Chronicles 24:1 Joash (YHVH fired; and, to whom YHVH hastens i.e, to help) (yo-awshי) was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem (founded peaceful; or, the habitation of peace) (Yer-oo-shaw-lahי-im). His mothers name also was Zibiah (a female gazelle; and, roe) (tsib-yawי) of Beer-sheba (well of the oath; and, well of the oath) (be-ayrי shehי-bah).   —>   This reads slightly different in the parallel Chapter of II Kings 12:1, which reads: II Kings 12:1 In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mothers name was Zibiah of Beersheba.   —>   Remember brethren, Jehu has been king over the House of Israel for seven years, and now, young seven year old Joashthe youngest of all the kings of Israelwhose mother is Zibiah from Beer-shebashe was the wife of Ahaziah, Jehoram and Athaliahs sonis beginning his rule over the House of Judah, and he will reign for forty years; much like the first three kings of the united House of Israel: Saul, David, and Solomon, a decent amount of time to reign and rule as king.

…seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years…=He was 7 years old when he took over the throne and he will reign for 40 years, that means he will return Home to Father at the ripe young age of 47 years old. He came to the throne at such a young age, he could very well have been the longest serving king in Israels history. But, hell throw it all away when his mentor and counselor returns Home to Father and he falls away from Father because of trying to please man instead of Father, what a sadness.

Forty=From Dr. Bullingers Book, Number in Scripture, we read the following: FORTY has long been universally recognized as an important number, both on account of the frequency of its occurrence, and the uniformity of its association with a period of probation, trial, and chastisement—(not judgment, like the number 9, which stands in connection with the punishment of enemies, but the chastisement of sons, and of a covenant people). It is the product of 5 and 8, and points to the action of grace (5), leading to and ending in revival and renewal (8). This is certainly the case where forty relates to a period of evident probation. But where it relates to enlarged dominion, or to renewed or extended rule, then it does so in virtue of its factors 4 and 10, and in harmony with their signification..

Zibiah
Zibiah=There is only one Zibiah in all of Fathers Word, she was the wife of Ahaziah, king of the House of Judah, and mother of Joash, the young seven year old boy who became king after the evil, godless usurper: AthaliahJoashs grand-mother. For the etymology of the name Zibiah, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The name Zibiah comes from the root group צבה (saba) and is identical to the noun צביה (sebiya), meaning gazelle: The name Zibiah means Gazelle, or Beautiful Lady. Other names that may mean deer or gazelle are Dorcas, Tabitha and Epher. Also note that this name terminates with the familiar יה (yah), which would normally be the abbreviated form of יהוה (YHVH), the name of the Lord.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H6645, - צִבְיָה, - tsibyâh, pronounced - tsib-yawי, and means: From H6646; a female gazelle; Tsibjah, an Israelitess: - Zibiah. Total KJV occurrences: 2.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: Roe. A native of Beersheba, and mother of King Joash, II Kings 12:1; II Chronicles 24:1..

II Chronicles 24:2 And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada (YHVH-known; or, YHVH knows) (yo-yaw-dawי) the priest.   —>   How close did you read this verse brethren? Did you catch and\or notice the caveat, all the days of Jehoiada the Priest, in other words, young Joash was righteous and followed the Commandments, Judgments, Laws, Ordinances, and Statutes of Father, so long his counselor and mentorwho also happened to be his unclewas leading and guiding him; put another way, he needed policing, as he was unable to stay on track without somebody looking over his shoulder and holding his feet to the fire. Much like many peopleChristians includedas they drive their cars, and do other things in their daily lives today. However, left to his own devices, young Joash succumbed to external influences, and other peoples evil doings; again, like many people today.

Again, so long as his uncle, the High Priest Jehoiada was guiding him, Joash was a righteous and good king. Sadly, well read by the end of this very Chapter, how Joash repays his uncle. Notice I said sadly, I said it that way, because he didnt repay him with the kindness he was shown. Jehoiada will pass before the Chapter closes, and Joash will repay him by stoning Jehoiadas sonJoashs very own cousinto death.

II Chronicles 24:3 And Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he begat sons and daughters.   —>   We do not know how old Joash was when Jehoiada found these two women for Joash to marry. What we do know, is several things: (1) several years have passed between the events mentioned in verse v24:1 and verse v24:3; (2) one of them was named Jehoaddan who will be the mother of Amaziahthe next king to rule the House of Judah; and (3) he is old enough to start reproducing children; but we dont know if Jehoiada took these women for Joash to marry because the royal seed-line was almost extinct, or whether he lacked faith in Fathers Promise to David, that He would continue his seed-line and that lineage would continue to rule the throne forever.

1A4
II Chronicles 24:4 And it came to pass after this, that Joash was minded to repair the house of the LORD.   —>   We read in II Kings 12:6 that this was during the 23rd year of Joashs reign and rulemeaning he was 30 years old when he began this endeavor to repair Fathers House.

…repair the house of the LORD=Why was Fathers House in need of repairing? Because his father Ahaziah, his grand-father and grand-mother, Jehoram and Athaliah, and his great grand-parents on his grand-mothers side, Ahab and Jezebel, had looted all the Dedicated or Sacred Items out of Fathers House and pretty much destroyed It, and then boarded up every one of the doors and forbade anybody from entering into Fathers House because they were all baal worshippers.

Remember brethren, as we made our way through the earlier Chapters of II Chronicles, we read of how when Solomon built Fathers Temple approximately 150 years ago, he had constructed It very solidly, in other words, he used large magnificent marble stones, cedar and cypress trees and such, so it was built to withstand normal use. But, because of the last few kings of the House of Judah, it has not had normal use, it had been neglected, abused and shut-down.

There is something not written here in II Chronicles 24 that is written in II Kings 12:3, letss turn there to read it and what I had written after it: II Chronicles 24:4 But the high places were not taken away: the People still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.   —>   Though the Baal temple in Jerusalem has been destroyed, the people still had their private little altars where they went to burn incense to their false gods; as it still was not pleasing to the people to go into the temple. See, since Solomon had built Fathers Temple some 150 years previous, the structure had not been maintained, and was therefore, falling apart. It was an old structure, and all the original gold and beautiful dedicated things to Father were now either gone; or, aged to a point of needing restoration. Therefore, the people found it more to their liking to go to their own little private places and burn their incense, and worship in their ways which made them feel good. These high places were some of those, and were nothing more than elevated altars which the people had erected to baal, and were used for the idolatrous worship to the samethough yes, some of the people, including Solomon, did worship Father YHVH at these high places; however, that was an illegal worship practice\service as Father never said to worship Him at a high placeand what the people did during their idolatrous worship services, was very similar to how Father wanted to be worshiped: by offering burnt offerings. Brethren, we have to research this as; again, Father wanted and directed how His Offerings were to be made, and the people around Israel who were worshiping false gods tried to copycat how Father wanted His Children to worship Him. When used properly, the Burnt Offering was known in the Hebrew tongue as: the Olah, which means to ascend, in other words, the smoke, and hence the smell of the animal sacrificed, ascended up to Father and the aroma was sweet and pleasing to Him. However, when used in idolatrous worship to other, false gods, the burnt offering was known in the Hebrew tongue as: H5766, - עול, ssעָוֶל, ssַוְלָה, ssַעוֹלָה, ssַעֹלָה, - ‛evel, ‛âvel, ‛avlâh, ‛ôlâh, or ‛ôlâh, pronounced - ehי-vel, awי-vel, av-lawי, o-lawי, or o-lawי, and means: From H5765; (moral) evil: - iniquity, perverseness, unjust (-ly), unrighteousness (-ly), wicked (-ness). Total KJV occurrences: 53.. Once you make a conversion to the things away from Father, its hard to throw out all those private personal traditions and set aside those things that were of the traditions of man. This is even common to this day, as when a person receives Christ through their belief and repentance in Jesus name; sadly, they still want to hold on to those little things that remind them of the family good times.

If you think these high places were where our forefathers went in order to try and get closer to Father when they worshipped Him, you would be thinking incorrectly. These high places were illegal, as they began in Canaan by the canaanite peoplesi.e., the Ammonites, the Amorites, the Girgashites, the Hittites, the Hivites, the Jebusites, the Kenites, the Moabites, the Perizzites etc.. They were where baal was worshipped, and Father implicitly forbade these and commanded our forefathers destroy every one of these places of baal worship wherever they were foundDeuteronomy 12:2. We also know from Fathers Word, that wherever the high places are mentioned, we find the groves, the places where the people cut the trees into phallic images and held their illegal orgy worship services, and then in spring, when the women who became pregnant during these orgies, gave birth, they would cast the children in the fire as a sacrificial offering to molech. Sadly, the high places will not be abolished until the fifth king from now, king Hezekiah; and then even after he does abolish them, Manassehanother future king of Judahwill re-erect them, before Josiahwho was prophesied of by Jeroboam back in I Kings 13:2 some 360 years before Josiahs birthfinally again destroys them until the people of the House of Judah are taken captive by the Babylonians.

The L ORD=This Title of Father as used here in this verse, is Father in His Role of יְהֹוָה, YHVHfrom Dr. Bullingers Companion Bible Appendices: YHVH, YAHVEH, or YEHOVAHthe sacred and personal name of Father. While Elohim is God as the Creator of all things, YEHOVAH is the same God in covenant relation to those whom He has created (compare II Chronicles 18:31). YEHOVAH means the Eternal, the Immutable One, He Who WAS, and IS, and IS TO COME. The Divine definition is given in Genesis 21:33. He is especially, therefore, the God of Israel; and the God of those who are redeemed, and are thus now in Christ. We can say My God, but not My YEHOVAH, for YEHOVAH is MY God..

                                            24:5 Delay by the Levites.
1A5
II Chronicles 24:5 And he gathered together the priests and the Levites (patronymic from H3878, attached, a Leviite or descendant of Levi; or, descendants of Levi) (lay-veeי), and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah (celebrated; and, praised, celebrated) (yeh-hoo-dawי), and gather of all Israel (he will rule as YAH; or, the prince that prevails with YAH) (Yis-raw-aleי) (secondary map) money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter.

Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.   —>   This reads better in II Kings 12:4-6, so lets read it from there: II Kings 12:4 And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any mans heart to bring into the house of the LORD, [12:5] Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found. [12:6] But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.   —>   All the money of the dedicated thingsis set at=What Joash is referencing here, are the sacred things, or the estimationvaluation, which was made by Father through Moses and then transferred to the Priestsof which we read of in Leviticus 27:2-8. Whereas, the all the money that cometh into a mans heart=The word cometh is our key word here, and in the Hebrew tongue, it is Hebrew word H5927, - עלה, - ‛âlâh, meaning to offer up, and are the Free-Will Offerings of money, as you couldnt\wouldnt want to burn the money brought in dedicated to Father.

Howbeit the Levites hastened it not=Joash told Jehoiada, the Priests, and the Levites to begin the repairs of Fathers house; but, to date, none of the repairs has even begun.

God=As used in this verse, this is אלהים, ELOHIMfrom Dr. Bullingers Companion Bible Appendices,: ELOHIMthe genus God, in other words, Father in His role of Creator of all things. From Dr. Bullingers Companion Bible, Appendix 4: ELOHIM occurs 2,700 times. Its first occurrence connects it with creation, and gives it its essential meaning as the Creator. It indicates His relation to mankind as His creatures (see note on II Chronicles 18:31, where it stands in contrast with YEHOVAH as indicating covenant relationship). ELOHIM is God the Son, the living WORD with creature form to create (John 1:1; Colossians 1:15-17; Revelation 3:14); and later, with human form to redeem (John 1:14). Begotten of His Father before all worlds; born of His mother, in the world. In this creature form He appeared to the Patriarchs, a form not temporarily assumed.. Dr. Bullinger further notes in his Companion notes to this verse, that (with Art.) = the [true] God..

II Chronicles 24:6 And the king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said unto him, Why hast thou not required of the Levites to bring in out of Judah and out of Jerusalem the collection, according to the commandment of Moses (Drawing out [of the water], that is, rescued; or, drawn, i.e. from the water) (mo-shehי) the servant of the LORD, and of the congregation of Israel, for the tabernacle of witness?   —>   Joash now calls Jehoiada, the Priests, and the Levites before him to inquire of them as to why they hadnt fulfilled his command to repair the holes in the walls of Fathers house, or affixed any of the other repairs which needed completing, and then tells them that since they had not done anything which he had commanded them to do, they were therefore now commanded to take any and all monies which have come into Fathers house as an Offeringremember, we read in Numbers 18, that Father gave and allowed the Priests to keep the Tribute moneyi.e., the half-shekel redemption when the People were numbered, the Gifts to Father, and other such Tributededicated to Him, as He had given them no inheritance of landand now use that money to repair Fathers house.
Moses
Moses=Moses was the younger of two sons born to Amram and Jochebed, his older brother was Aaron, and he also had an older sister: Miriam. Moses was a type for our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ as, Father used him to be a Deliverer and Savior to our forefathers to bring them out of their bondage to the Egyptians, and into the Promised Land which He had Promised Abraham He would do over 400 years previous. There are 784 verses with 848 matches for the name Moses and its associated Strongs Hebrew word number: 4872 in Fathers Word. We are introduced to him at the time of his birth. He was born while our forefathers were in captivity and bondage to the Egyptians. The pharaoh, or king of Egypt, at the time of his birth had commanded that all the male children of the Israelites be killed as, our forefathers were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.; so, in the hopes of saving her sons life, when he was 3 months old his mother fashioned an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and pitch, and had her daughter Miriam take her brother and set him in his ark in the reeds of the bank of the River Nile, where she watched what would be done to him. Shortly after setting him and his ark in the river, pharaohs daughter came down to the river to bathe herself and when she saw the little ark floating in the water, she had one of her maidens fetch it to bring it to her to see what it was. When she opened it, she saw that infant child lying inside and she had compassion on the babe. When Miriam saw that pharaohs daughter had compassion, Miriam exposed herself from where she was hiding and asked the young woman if she should go and get an Israelite woman to assist in the nursing of the child? To her delight, the woman said, Go, and Miriam ran to her mother and brought her to nurse her own son. Pharaohs daughter said to Jochebed, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages., and Jochebed took her son and nursed him until he grew and then returned him to Pharaohs daughter and he became her son, and she named him Moses, hence his name being of foreign derivation, the Latin form of the original Moshe. Translated rather than transliterated, the name means: drawn, i.e. from the water; in the Coptic it means saved from the water. Moses was born in 1571B.C. and lived a total of 120 years: 40 years in Egypt before being banished by pharaoh after it was discovered that he was not an Egyptian. Steven, in the Book of THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES, gives us this account: Acts 7:24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian: [7:25] For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not. [7:26] And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another? [7:27] But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us? [7:28] Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday? [7:29] Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.   —>   Moses married Ziporah while he was in exile and she bare him Gershom and Eliezer. Paul says this of the account of Moses in THE EPISTLE TO THE HEBREWS: Hebrews 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaohs daughter; [11:25] Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; [11:26] Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. [11:27] By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing Him Who is invisible.; he lived 40 years in exile, again, lets read Stevens account: Acts 7:30 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an Angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. [7:31] When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the LORD came unto him, [7:32] Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold. [7:33] Then said the LORD to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground. [7:34] I have seen, I have seen the affliction of My people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt. [7:35] This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the Angel which appeared to him in the bush. [7:36] He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.   —>   and then, returning to Egypt to lead our forefathers out of Egypt: [7:37] This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; Him shall ye hear. [7:38] This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the Angel Which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us: [7:39] To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,   —>   Our forefathers did indeed try several times to turn back to Egypt and Father became so angry at them that He was going to destroy them and start anew with Moses being the father of the Nation; however, Moses would have none of it, he was a superb intercessor and convinced Father to give our forefathers chance after chance. Where to begin and what to say concerning Fathers friend, Prophet, Law Giver, and writer of the first five Books of His Word. Surely, it would take a volume in and of itself to fully encapsulate and expound upon all the virtues of Moses the historian, orator, leader, statesman, legislator and patriot. Charlton Heston superbly captured the essence of the man in Cecil B. Demilles 1956 Block Buster The 10 COMMANDMENTS; but, though Charlton did capture Moses essence, Im sure he fell well short of the true character of the man. Moses lived a total of 120 years which were divided into 3 40 year segments and can be summed this way: the first 40 years was his birth until his flight from Egypt to Midian; the second 40 years were of his time in Midian finding himself and then finding Father and learning of Fathers Plan was for him; the third 40 years were of his return to Egypt to lead Fathers Chosen People out of Egypt; but, not before having to convince pharaoh to let My People go. Moses led our forefathers through the desert and then the wilderness a total of 40 years to the edge of The Promised Land which he himself got to look at and observe from the top of Mount Nebo; but, like everybody else who fled Egypt 20 years old and above, he didnt get to enter into the Promised Land, for them it was because of their unbelief, for Moses it was because he struck the Rock when he was supposed to Speak to the Rock. For the etymology of the name Moses, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The etymology of the name Moses along with the original meaning of the name have been long disputed. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names derives it from the Egyptian word for water, mo, and the verb to save out of water, uses. Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary relates it to the Egyptian word mes, mesu, meaning child, son. Then, of course, there is the Hebrew verb משה (masha), which is identical to the name save for the Masoretic additions: Since it is highly unlikely that the Egyptian princess was speaking Hebrew when she said it, Moses was probably known by the Egyptian word for Draw Out. Then, when he began to play a role in a Hebrew text, his name must have been subsequently translated into Hebrew. Harris Archer Waltke (HAW) Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament devotes an article to the name Moses and notes that this name is a יQal active participle of the verb masha, and concludes that the name Moses doesnt mean He Who Was Drawn Out, but rather He Who Draws Out. The name is explained not because Moses is derived from masha but because it resembles it in sound (says HAW Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament). HAW further states that the consensus today is that Moses has to do with the Egyptian word for child (as BDB Theological Dictionary reports). This in turn suggests that the emphasis in Exodus 2:10 should not be placed on the verb drewbecause I drew him out of the water — but on the princess who claims right to adopt and name Moses because she drew him out: And she named him because she drew him out of the water. Also note that the name Moses not only strongly resembles the verb that means to draw out, it obviously also resonates with the action of lending and borrowing, that is: receiving something that may be used at ones discretion but of which no ownership can be claimed and which some day will have to be returned to the rightful owner.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H4872, - מֹשֶ ה, - môsheh, pronounced - mo-shehי, and means: From H4871; drawing out (of the water), that is, rescued; Mosheh, the Israelitish lawgiver: - Moses. Total KJV occurrences: 766.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we find that the description of Moses in the Smiths Bible Dictionary is extensive and is entirely too long to post here; so, Ill instead just post the link to it: Moses.

                                            24:7 Delay by the Levites.
                                            24:7 Neglect.

II Chronicles 24:7 For the sons of Athaliah (constrained by YAH; or, afflicted of YHVH) (ath-al-yaw-sawfי-hoo), that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD did they bestow upon Baalim.   —>   Wicked Athaliah was! But of course, she got that during her upbringing by her parents, especially her mother Jezebel who was the daughter of a high priest of baal. Anyway, she, her husband, her parents, and her sons, had looted the sacred things from Fathers House and carried them over to the temple of baal which they had erected; and here, Joash is calling attention to it and telling the Priests and the Levites to restore those Itemsby restorev I mean, craft new ones, as it would have been an abomination for them to take the Items which had been placed in the temple of baal and put back in Fathers House, as those Items were defiledand get to work repairing Fathers House.

                                            24:8 Command of Joash.
1A8
II Chronicles 24:8 And at the kings commandment they made a chest, and set it without at the gate of the house of the LORD.   —>   We read in II Kings 12:7 that Joash told the Priests and the Levites that they were to not collect any more money for themselves, anything that they collected was to be put for the repairing of Fathers House. We then read in II Kings 12:8, that Jehoiada had agreed to Joashs command. To a certain extent I dont know if I understand the why behind this move of Jehoiada, as he was a good Priest and Chief Priest, I could understand it, if it was the other Priests, as some of them as we know were the kenites who had been assigned to the Priests, and taken over the priesthood as can be read in Joshua 9 and then in I Chronicles 2:55anyway, Jehoiada tells Joash that he agreed to not receive any more of the money from verse v24:6 above, and since they are no longer getting that money, theyll no more attempt any repairs on Fathers House. However, as well see in the next Verse, Jehoiada will set-up a collection plate by way of a chest, for the people to donate to the restoration of Fathers House.

We read in II Kings 12:9, that Jehoiada took a chest, bore a hole in the lid of it and then set it on the right side of the Altar of Burnt-Offering, so that, when the the People brought their money Offerings to Fathers House, the Priests put their Offerings into that chest. Dr. Bullinger notes in his Companion Notes to verse II Kings 12:9, the following: There were two chests made on account of the slackness of the Priests. The first by Jehoiada named here II Kings 12:9, beside the burnt-offering in the court. The other at the kings commandment without a hole bored in II Chronicles 24:8,14, outside at the gate. In the former there was not enough room for the vessels of the house; in the latter there was abundance for all..

                                            24:9 Command of Joash.

II Chronicles 24:9 And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to the LORD the collection that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness.   —>   Here they proclamation throughout all the land of the House of Judah to not give the monies to the Priests and the Levites; but, instead, to bring it with them to Jerusalem when they came to Fathers House.

…the collection that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness=Where and when did Father lay this upon Moses and the People? We read of it in Exodus 25, and we read that Father told Moses to tell the People that they were to bring to him certain items of gold, silver and forthwith, in order to make the sanctuary and items to go therein: Exodus 25:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take My offering. [25:3] And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass, [25:4] And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats hair, [25:5] And rams skins dyed red, and badgers skins, and shittim wood, [25:6] Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense, [25:7] Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate. [25:8] And let them make Me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.   —>   That was over 750 years ago and through those many years, through both the willful and not so willful plundering of the Treasury and dedicated things in Fathers Temple, all those dedicated items are now gone, and therefore, it is time to restore the Temple, and then fashion and fabricate the candlesticks, utensils of spoons, bowls, and the like to be used in the Service to Father in His Temple.

                                            24:10 Money, obedience.
                                            24:10 Eagerness of the People.
1A10
II Chronicles 24:10 And all the princes and all the People rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.   —>   The princes were obviously the heads of the two Tribes, the city officials, heads of State and such, and they ensured that the People were freely giving their Offerings. Not that they had to, as, as we read here, everybody gave and was joyous and pleased to do soat least at this point in timethat Fathers house was going to be restored and worship services to Him were again going to commence. Paul tells us in II Corinthians 9:7, that Father Loves a Cheerful giver.

                                            24:11 Money, obedience.
                                            24:11 Need supplied, abundance.
1A11
II Chronicles 24:11 Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the kings office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the kings scribe and the high priests officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.   —>   So, the two chests have been set out, and again, at present, the People are giving with a joyful and willing heart; as, Jehoiada and the Priests have made it well known what the money in the chests was going to be used for. The People now knew that their king Joash had ordered the Temple to be restored; and when there is a goal to be met, People are much more willing to open their purses and give. Remember though, that even while they are opening their purses and giving their Free-will Offerings to Father here, they were also still going over on the Mount of OlivesFathers Holy Mountto their high places to make illegal sacrifices to Father, falsely believing, and deceiving themselves into thinking they can have it both ways.

…kings scribe and the high priests officer…=Notice brethren, there were 2 people who were assigned to empty the chests; this is always a good policy whenever church fundsor any other Organizational fundsare being handled. This policy eliminates any temptation by any of the members, it also eliminates any accusations by any of the members, as there are 2 witnesses present.

                                            24:12 Repairs, effected.
1A12
II Chronicles 24:12 And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the LORD, and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of the LORD.   —>   When the scribe and the priest who were over the treasuries emptied the chests and counted the money in Joash and Jehoiadas presence, they then returned the chests so the People could offer more, they did this every day. When it appeared that the People had offered as much they had wanted to offer; then, Joash and Jehoiada hired both masons and carpenters, and also bought large pieces of marble, timber, iron and brass for the repair of the Temple.

Having to hire these people and buy the materials which they had to purchase, gives us an insight as to just how much in disarray Fathers House had become by Athaliah, Jehoram, Ahab and Jezebel, and Ahaziah and his brethrenin other words, all the baal worshippers.

This reads better in II Kings 12:12-13, so lets read it from there: II Kings 12:12 And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.   —>   So, everything is all set: the masons and stone cutters have been hired and paid, and the materials have also been bought and paid for, now its time to begin the repairs. [12:13] Howbeit there were not made for the house of the LORD bowls of silver, snuffers, basons, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the LORD:   —>   Once they ensured there was enough monies to pay for all the required repairs, then it was time to see about replacing all the items used in the worship service which had been removed by Jehoram, Athaliah and company.

                                            24:13 Repairs, effected.
1A13
II Chronicles 24:13 So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in his state, and strengthened it.   —>   The construction crew did a superb job of repairing Fathers House; and as were about to read, well see that they even had some money left over.

                                            24:14 Collection, surplus.
1A14
II Chronicles 24:14 And when they had finished it, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, whereof were made vessels for the house of the LORD, even vessels to minister, and to offer withal, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the LORD continually all the days of Jehoiada.   —>   Once the repairs to Fathers House were complete, then, and only then, they begin to make all the gold and silver items which were to be used in the Worship service. Sadly, we read in II Kings 12:17-18, that after Jehoiada dies and returns Home to Father, because of Joash listening to man and forsaking Father, Father will send Hazael, the king of Syria against Joash. What will Joash do? Will he seek Father? Will he repent and ask Father for forgiveness? Nope, hell try and rely on gold to save his behind; hell take all the Sacred and Dedicated Items from Fathers House and willingly give it to Hazael to try and buy him off.

…they offered burnt offerings in the house of the LORD continually all the days of Jehoiada=This is referring to the morning sacrifices, the evening sacrifices, the Burnt Offerings and all the other sacrifices which were required by Father through the Law of Moses. And what this verse tells us, is that, while Jehoiada lived, was leading and guiding Joash, he ensured that all the sacrifices were performed according to Fathers Law. However, as were about to find out, once Jehoiada dies and returns Home to Father, things will cahnge in the House of Judah; as Joash will begin listening to man and forsake the guidance of the Priests and Levites, thus, he will also forsake and reject Father.

And=Notice all the and(s) in this verse brethren? The use of multiple and in Fathers Word indicates a polysyndeton. These consecutive or multiple uses of the word and, are used to highlight and emphasize each detail and point.

II Chronicles 24 leaves out a verse which is in II Kings 12, so I want to bring that in, as I think its important: II Kings 12:16 The trespass money and sin money was not brought into the house of the LORD: it was the priests.   —>   We can read of the laws for the Sin and Trespass Offerings in Leviticus 6 and 7; though, there, Father is describing what to do with the animal sacrifice. Here, Father is talking concerning monies, and in both cases, the Priests get to keep, either the animal to eat; or, again, in this case, the money to use to raise their families. The Sin Offering was given when an individual committed a specific sin, then the priest would judge that sin, and the law spelled out what would be given for forgiveness of that sin. The sin money was not to be brought into the Temple in the first place.

                                            24:15 Jehoiadas death.
1A15
II Chronicles 24:15 But Jehoiada waxed old, and was full of days when he died; an hundred and thirty years old was he when he died.   —>   At this time in history, it was pretty much unpresidented for anyone to live to be 130 years old. At 130 years of age, this means Jehoiada was born during the reign and rule of Solonom. It also means that he lived through the reign and rule of 6 different king of the House of Judah. For Father to allow Jehoiada to live as long as He allowed him to liveeven Moses120 yearsJoshua110 yearsand Caleb85 yearsdidnt live to the age of Jehoiadathis Pastor and author of this Study believes that Father knew what would come to pass when He brought Jehoiada Home to Him, He knew what Joash would do, and therefore He tried to keep Jehoiada leading and guiding Joash for as long as possible to try and have a longer affect on Joash and keep him from forsaking Him.

                                            24:16 Jehoiadas death.
1A16
II Chronicles 24:16 And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both toward God, and toward his house.   —>   What an honor for Jehoiada, a High Priest, to be buried with the kings of the House of Judah, the only such to be so honored. This same honor, i.e., to be buried with the kings of the House of Judah, will not be shown to Joash himself.

Now that Jehoiada has returned Home to Father, how will Joash do? Sadly, we will see that he does not show kindness to Jehoiada. As a matter of fact, he repays Jehoiada with evilness. Remember brethrenJoash should have remembered this tooJehoiadas wife Jehoshabeath took Joash when he was an infant and hid him, and then Jehoaida kept him safe from Athaliah for seven years until heJehoiadaascended himJoashto the throne as king of the House of Judah. Well see that after Joash forsakes Father, Father will send Jehoiadas son Zechariah to try and warn Joash and turn him from forsaking Father, Joash and the princes of Judah will conspire against Zechariah and murder him. I also remind you again brethren, Jehoiada was Joash uncle by marriage. His wife Jehoshabeath was the sister of Ahaziah, Joashs daddy. That also makes Zechariah, son of Jehoiada and Jehoshabeath, cousin to Joash, whom Joash had a hand in murdering.

                                      24:17-20 House of God, forsaken.
1A17
II Chronicles 24:17 Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them.   —>   Now that Jehoiada, the strength behind the Nation of the House of Judah Honoring, Serving and Worshipping Father YHVH, has died and returned Home to Father and his body put into the ground; the princes, i.e., the leaders of the Tribes, the heads of State, and the heads of the families come to Joashhumbly prostrating themselvesto gain his consent to returning to worshipping false gods and idols. In other words, they want to re-start their grove worship up in the high places, they want to re-start their orgies. What does Joash do? Why, he responds with a resounding, yes, you can re-institute your idolatrous worship practices.

Nobody but Joash himself can answer as to why he made the decision to allow himself to be swayed by man. I mean, think about it brethren, he had been raised by the High Priest himself, Joash never knew anything of idolatry, he never saw it in the Nation. Yes, you could say that it was happening in the Nation by his grand-mother during his lifetime; but, he was in Fathers House, therefore he was shielded from it. And his being only 7 years old at the time of his ascension to the throne, he truly didnt have knowledge of it or even if he saw it, he didnt comprehend what he was seeing. But, what he did by allowing idolatry to be re-instituted threw everything good he did during his 30+ year reign to that point, right out the window, and he completely angered Father with his decision, and then hell cap it off with what he does next.
1A18
II Chronicles 24:18 And they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.   —>   Father is not pleased with this decision to forsake Him. What is the lesson of The Books of the CHRONICLES brethren? Do things Fathers way and things will go well, in the Nation, in your own life; conversely, forsake Father and He in-turn, will forsake you.

…left the house of the LORD God of their fathers…=How does Father feel about being forsaken? We find our answer to that question in Exodus 34:14, which reads: Exodus 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, Whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:.
1A19
II Chronicles 24:19 Yet He sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the LORD; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.
—>   Notice the s at the end of the word prophet brethren. This means Father sent more than one prophet to try and warn them and try to return their hearts back to Father. How did Joash and the People respond? Did they comply, did they come to their senses and say, yes, we will put away our false gods and idols? No, each time He sent a prophet, they turned that prophet away; and Im positive that they didnt just turn them away, Im positive they did so with ridicule and a whole other sense of nastiness like were seeing in the United States and all around the world today.

These prophets were not only prophesying and testifying against Judahs false gods and idols, they were also Testifying for Father YHVH. These prophets were not afraid to call apostasy, apostasy; they werent afraid to call perversion, pervserion! Sadly, today in the world around us, we have far too many who are afraid to call things what they are, and that includes tyranny by just about every government! Dr. Bullinger has an excellent note in his companion notes to this verse: The vulgatemy note here, the Greek version of the Old Testamentreads: quos protestantes = who is protesting against them. Thus the first instance of the word Protestant is found in the Vulgate, and not in the history of the Reformation. Pro=For, and Testans=Witnessing, is positive, not negative. It denotes a witnessing for God and His Truth, not merely against evil..

                                            24:20-22 Joashs treachery.
1A20
II Chronicles 24:20 And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah (YAH has remembered; and, YHVH is renowned or remembered) (zek-ar-yawי-hoo) the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the People, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, He hath also forsaken you.x   —>   Again, I said it just 2 verses ago brethren, the Point and Lesson of the The Books of the CHRONICLES, do things Fathers way and things will go well in your life; go against, or forsake Father, and He in-turn, will forsake you, as were seeing He just told Joash.
Zechariah
Zechariah=Zechariah was the son of Jehoiada, who was the High Priest during the reign and rule of Joash. Jehoiadas wife Jehoshabeath, had rescued Joash from the wrath of his grand-mother Athaliah, when she went on her murderous rampage after he son Ahaziah was killed, and slew all the seed-royal, meaning she killed every one of her own grand-sons who had a rightful claim to the throne. Jehoiada and Jehoshabeath hid Joash in Fathers House until Jehoiada had had enough of Athaliahs godlessness and evilness, and then he installed Joash on the throne at the young age of 7 years old. So long as Jehoiada lived, Joash stayed true to Father YHVH; however, when Jehoiada died and returned Home to Father, Joash listened to man and allowed evilness to set back in the Nation of the House of Judah. Father sent prophet after prophet t warn and try and turn Joash, but Joash wouldnt listen. So, Father sent Zechariah, Jehoiadas and Joashs very own first-cousin, to try and warn him. What did Joash and the princes of Judah do? They stoned him to death. Not a very nice way to repay your aunt and uncle for saving you very own life. For the etymology of the name Zechariah, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The name Zechariah consists of two parts. The final bit is יה, the abbreviated form of the Name of the Lord: יהוה (YHVH). The first segment of the name Zechariah comes from the verb זכר (zakar), meaning to think about or meditate upon: The name Zechariah literally means Yah Remembers or Remembrance of Yah or even Pondering Yahveh. For a meaning of the name Zechariah, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Yahveh Remembers and Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names has Remembered Of The Lord. But following zakars meaning of male, we find for the name Zechariah a secondary meaning of Yahs Male. And that isnt all that weird considering that the name of the archangel Gabriel means Gods Guy.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H2148, - זְכַרְיָה,ss or זְכַרְיָהוּ, - zekaryâh or zekaryâhû, pronounced - zek-ar-yawי or zek-ar-yawי-hoo, and means: From H2142 and H3050; YAH has remembered; Zecarjah, the name of twenty nine Israelites: - Zachariah, Zechariah. Total KJV occurrences: 43.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: YAH is renowned or YAH is remembered. Son of Jehoiada the priest, who was stoned to death for rebuking the people for their idolatry. Announcement of divine judgment was more than the idolaters could stand, so at the bidding of the king in the court of the Lords house he died a death similar to that of Stephen. His dying words, The Lord look upon it, and require it, were long remembered (II Chronicles 24:20,21)..

                            24:21 Conspiracy against Zechariah.
                            24:21 Jehoiadas son, death.
1A21
II Chronicles 24:21 And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD.   —>   …stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD=All I can say, is, WOW! What a despicable way to repay Jehoiada for literally saving his life, for the decades of kindness which he had shown Joash, and for all the leadership, mentoring and guidance he had provided Joash to this point in his life!

Whothe capital W at the beginning of the Paragraph\sentence isnt just because it is the beginning of the paragraph\sentence brethren, its because of WHO is about to be spoken of, so Ill say it again…Who was Joash truly rejecting? He was\is rejecting Father YHVH and His Word and His rebuking of Joash for forsaking and rebuking Him. How will Father respond to the murder of one of His Prophets who He sent? Lets continue reading and find out.

…at the commandment of the king…=Joash is one of 11the number 11 in Spiritual significance denotes: disorder and disorganizationleaders, kings or rulers offended by one of Fathers Servants, see also: the Egyptian Pharaoh in Exodus 10:28; Balak, king of the Moabites in Numbers 24:10; Jeroboam, king of Israel in I Kings 13:4; Ahab, king of Israel in I Kings 22:27; Naaman, the king of Syrias servant in II Kings 5:12; Asa, king of Israel in II Chronicles 16:10; Joash, king of Judah in II Chronicles 24:21; Uzziahalso called Azariahking of Judah in II Chronicles 26:19; Jehoiakim, king of Judah in Jeremiah 26:21; Zedekiah, king of Judah in Jeremiah 32:3;and Herod, Roman ruler of Jerusalem in Matthew 14:3.

                                        24:22 Jehoiadas son, death.
1A22
II Chronicles 24:22 Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The LORD look upon it, and require it.   —>   …his father…=Obviously Jehoiada was not Joashs father. But, he might as well have been, as it was Jehoiada who raised him, molded, mentored and Spiritually guided him for all but a few months of his life. He was also, in the true sense of the word, his uncle by marriage.

…The LORD look upon it and require it=These were probably the last words out of Zechariahs mouth; if not, they were at least, his last words to Joash.

…require it=Our Lord Jesus Himself used these very words when He was rebuking the scribes, pharisees and lawyersthe same ones He identified and rebuked in Luke 8:44-45in Luke 11, lets read them: Luke 11:45 Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying Thou reproachest us also. [11:46] And He said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers. [11:47] Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. [11:48] Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres. [11:49] Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute: [11:50] That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation; [11:51] From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation..

                                        24:23 Invasion by the Syrians.
1A23
II Chronicles 24:23 And it came to pass at the end of the year, that the host of Syria (From the same as H758 the highland; Aram; and, elevated; to be high) (arawmי) came up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the People from among the People, and sent all the spoil of them unto the king of Damascus (neither the Strongs Concordance nor the Smiths Bible Dictionary provide a meaning of the name Damascus) (dam-mehי-sek).   —>   Remember back in verse v24:18, where we read that Fathers wrath came upon Joash, Judah and Jerusalem because of their trespass against Father? Here now, we are reading how that wrath came, by Father sending the Syrians against Joash, Judah and Jersualem. What will/does Joash do? He, figuring this is only a man-thing, tries to buy the Syrians off. We read in II Kings 12:18, the following: II Kings 12:18 And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and in the kings house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.   —>   We read in II Kings 12, that after being paid-off, Hazael goes away. Here in II Chronicles 24 though, Joash isnt going to be as fortunate. Here, as we see, the host of the Syrians destroyed all the princes of the Peoplei.e., those who led Judah and Jerusalem away from Father and into idolatryand as were about to read that the Syrians will leave him in considerable worse conditions.

                                        24:24 Invasion by the Syrians.
1A24
II Chronicles 24:24 For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the LORD delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.   —>   …the LORD delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers…=This was Fathers Judgment and repayment for Joash, Judah and Jerusalem forsaking Him!

                                        24:25 Conspiracy of servants.
                                        24:25 Joash assassinated.
1A25
II Chronicles 24:25 And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings.   —>   …diseases…=Lets check-out this word in our Strongs Concordance brethren, when we do, we find that it is Hebrew word number: H2470, - חָלָה, - châlâh, pronounced - khaw-lawbי, and means: A primitive root (compare with H2342 and H2490); properly to be rubbed or worn; hence (figuratively) to be weak, sick, afflicted; or (causatively) to grieve, make sick; also to stroke (in flattering), entreat: - beseech, (be) diseased, (put to) grief, be grieved, (be) grievous, infirmity, intreat, lay to, put to pain, X pray, make prayer, be (fall, make) sick, sore, be sorry, make suit (X supplication), woman in travail, be (become) weak, be wounded. Total KJV occurrences: 76.. Obviously Joash wasnt praying, nor was he sorry for being the one who allowed the princes of Judah to lead the People of Judah and Jerusalem astray and for their murder of Zechariah. If he had been, it would have been written in Fathers Word, and we see that it is not.

…they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings…=So, as he lay on his bed in great pain and distress from his wounds which the Syrian army had inflicted upon him, his own servants came in and finished him off, killing him, and when they buried him, they did not even give him a royal funeral, but instead, put him out with the remains of the common people.

…sons…=Obviously this is in reference to Zechariah in verse v24:21 above; but, it is emphasizing the son of Jehoiada the High Priest who was slain. But, it is also stated this way, because it is also taking into account the sons who Zechariah would have had, had he not been murdered.

                       24:26 Conspiracy of servants, successful.
                       24:26 Conspiators.
1A26
II Chronicles 24:26 And these are they that conspired against him; Zabad (giver; and, gift) (zaw-bawdי) the son of Shimeath (annunciation; and, report, or fame) (shim-awthי) an Ammonitess (tribal, that is, inbred; and, mountaineers) (am-mo-neeי), and Jehozabad (YHVH-endowded; or, whom YHVH gave) (yeh-ho-zaw-bawdי) the son of Shimrith (female guard; and, vigilant) (shim-reethי) a Moabitess (Patronymic from H4124; a Moabite or Moabitess; that is, a descendant from Moab: - (woman) of Moab; and, of her father) (mo-aw-beethי).   —>   We read in II Kings 12:20, that these two men killed Joash …in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla…. Millo lie somewhere between Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives, and obviously Joash had some sort of residence there.
Zabad
Zabad=Or Jozachar as he is called in II Kings 12:20. He was the son of a woman named Shimeath who was an Ammonitess. Zabad was one of two men who conspired against Joash, king of the House of Judah, and slew him as he lay on his deathbed after being wounded by the Syrians. The Syrians had come against Joash because Father had sent themit was His judgment against Joashafter he commanded the death of Zechariah whom Father had sent as a warning against Joash for allowing the People of the House of Judah to re-institute grove worship in the high places. For the etymology of the name Zabad, we read the following from Abarim Publications: Our name Zabad comes from the verb זבד (zabad), meaning to give or bestow: For a meaning of the name Zabad, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List suggests Gift. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names proposes Given, and Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary translates with He Hath Given or A Gift.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H2066, - זָבָד, - zâbâd, pronounced - zaw-bawdי, and means: From H2064; giver; Zabad, the name of seven Israelites: - Zabad. Total KJV occurrences: 8.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: Gift. Son of Shimeath, an Ammonitess; an assassin who, with Jehozabad, slew King Joash, according to II Chronicles 24:26; but in II Kings 12:21 his name is written, probably more correctly, Jozachar..
Shimeath
Shimeath=Shimeath was an Ammonitess, meaning she was a woman. Fathers Word does not say who her husband was; but, her son was JozacharII Kings 12:20or ZabadII Chronicles 24:26one of two men who conspired against and murdered Joash, king of the House of Judah. For the etymology of the name Shimeath, we read the following from Abarim Publications: The name Shimeath is a feminine noun (of an old spelling) of a noun derived of the verb שמע (shamaי), meaning to hear: For a meaning of the name Shimeath, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Report and Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names proposes Hearing, Fame. Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary does not interpret our name but does list it under the verb שמע (shamaי), meaning to hear.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H8100, - שִׁמְעָת, - shim‛âth, pronounced - shim-awthי, and means: Feminine of H8088; annunciation; Shimath, an Ammonitess: - Shimath. Total KJV occurrences: 2.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: Feminine of Shimeah. An Ammonitess, mother of Jozachar or Zabad, one of the murderers of King Joash, II Kings 12:21 (22); II Chronicles 24:26., XXXX..

Ammonitess=For a detailed description of Ammonitess, including the history, the etymology of the word, the Strongs Concordance definition of the word, and the Smiths Bible Dictionary information, click here.
Jehozabad
Jehozabad=Jehozabad was one of two men who murdered Joash king of the House of Judah, which we read about in II Kings 12:20 and II Chronicles 24:26. These are the only mentions of Jehozabad; as such, the only thing we know of him was that he murdered Joash and that his motherShimrith, also called Shomer in II Kings 12:20was a Moabitess. For the etymology of the name Jehozabad, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The name Jehozabad consists of two elements, the first being יה (Yah) = יהו (Yahu) = יו (Yu), which in turn are abbreviated forms of the Tetragrammaton; the name of the Lord: YHVH or Yahveh. The second part of our name comes from the verb זבד (zabad), meaning to give: For a meaning of the name Jehozabad, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Yahveh Has Bestowed and Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary has the similar Yah Hath Bestowed. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names suggests the slightly different Whom The Lord Gave. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H3075, - יְהוֹזָבָד, - yehôzâbâd, pronounced - yeh-ho-zaw-bawdי, and means: From H3068 and H2064; YHVH-endowded; Jehozabad, the name of three Israelites: - Jehozabad. Total KJV occurrences: 4. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: Whom YHVH gave. Son of Shomer or Shimrith, a Moabitish woman, who with another conspired against King Joash and slew him in his bed, II Kings 12:21; II Chronicles 24:26..
Shimrith
Shimrith=Shimrithcalled Shomer in II Kings 12:20was a Moabitess, meaning she was a woman. Fathers Word does not say who her husband was; but, her son was Jehozabad, one of two men who conspired against and murdered Joash, king of the House of Judah, of which we read of in II Kings 12:20 and II Chronicles 24:26. For the etymology of the name Shimrith, we read the following from Abarim Publications: The name Shimrith comes from the verb שמר (shamar): How this name ended up with a yod-taw ending isnt clear, but this name was constructed long before this story was written. And back then, the letter taw sometimes existed where in the younger Hebrew of the story, the letter he occurs. This name may thus come from the noun shomra, which was then shomrath, and the yod may have been inserted for flavor. With a similar theory the name Elath may be explained. For a meaning of the name Shimrith, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Vigilant. Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names proposes Guarded. Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary doesnt translate this name but lists it under שמר.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H8116, - שִׁמְרִית, - shimrı̂yth, pronounced - shim-reethי, and means: Feminine of H8113; female guard; Shimrith, a Moabitess: - Shimrith. Total KJV occurrences: 1.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: feminine of Shimri, vigilant. A Moabitess, mother of Jehozabad, one of the assassins of King Joash, II Chronicles 24:26. In II Kings 12:21 she is called Shomer..

                                                     24:27 Conclusion.
1A27
II Chronicles 24:27 Now concerning his sons, and the greatness of the burdens laid upon him, and the repairing of the house of God, behold, they are written in the story of the book of the kings. And Amaziah (strength of YAH; or, the strength of YHVH) (am-ats-yawי-hoo) his son reigned in his stead.   —>   …the greatness of the burdens…=In other words, the abundance or the depth of the chastisement by Father for his and Judahs rejection of and forsaking of Father YHVH, and for the murder of Zechariah the son of Jehoiada. We read of this chastisement above in verses 24:22-25, where we read of Zechariah telling Joash as he was about to be murdered, that Father …look upon it and require it…, meaning that chastisement was coming; and it did, because we read that Father sent the Syrians against Joash and Judah and they spoiled them, and destroyed the princes.

…written in the story…=There is only one other place this word story is used in Fathers Word, and we read it a few short Chapters ago, in II Chronicles 13:22. We find that this word is Hebrew word number: H4097, - מדרשׁ, - midrâsh, pronounced - mid-rawshי, and means: From H1875; properly an investigation, that is, (by implication) a treatise or elaborate compilation: - story. Total KJV occurrences: 2.. So in other words, it was a historical chronicling and commentary, having in view the moral instruction rather than the historical facts.

So Joash the seventh king of the House of Judah is now dead and returned Home to Father after having reigning and ruling the Nation for 39-40 years. Joashs 25 year old son Amaziah will now take the reins of the Nation, and he will reign and rule for 29 years.
Amaziah
Amaziah=Amaziah was the son of king Joash and his wife Jehoaddan, he was the eighth king of the Nation of the House of Judah and he reigned and ruled over the Nation for 29 years743B.C.-714B.C.. He fathered Uzziah, his successor, when he was 38 years old. He, like his father, started off his reign doing that which was right in the sight of the LORD. What did he do to do so? He tried to bring back the glory of the Nation which it enjoyed under his great grand-father Jehoshaphat and the beginning of his fathers reign and rule. The first thing he did was slay the two menZabad and Jehozabadwho had conspired against and murdered his father, then he made captains over thousands and built and fortified his army, to the point which he mustered 300,000 choice men which were capable of handling shield and spear. However, like his father, his doing that which was right in the sight of Father only lasted so long, and he fairly quickly fell by the way-side so to speak, whereby, he put his faith in himself and man and not Father, as he tried hiring 100,000 mercenaries from the House of Israel to further strengthen his army. Father was not pleased with this decision and sent one of His Prophets to convey His dissatisfaction. Correctly, Amaziah obeyed Fathers Prophet, dismissed the Israelite mercenaries and sent them back home, while he and his troops went to engage war against the Edomites. Father gave him the victory over the Edomites; however, what does the fool do? In taking the spoil from the Edomites, he also takes their false gods and idols, and when he returns to Judah, he worships them. Unbeknownst to him, as he and his troops were engaging in war against the Edomites, the mercenaries he had sent back to Israel, mad that they would not be receiving any of the spoil from the Edomites, they stopped on their way home and looted some of the major cities in Judah before they departed. Feeling pretty proud and smug with himself after his victory over the Edomites, Amaziah next set his sights on the House of Israel to avenge the mercenaries looting of his cities, Joash, king of Israel tried to warn Amaziah off, but he would not hear. Amaziahs worshipping the Edomites false gods and idols really angered Father, so He delivered Amaziah into the hands of the king of Israel and he was smitten badly. Joash captured Amaziah, took him to Jerusalem and made him watch as he and his army broke down over 800 feet of the wall which surrounded Jerusalem, took much gold and silver from both Fathers House and the kings treasuries, and also took many hostages with them when they returned to Israel. Amaziah outlived Joash by fifteen years; however, his own People made a conspiracy against him and slew him. Out of respect of his being a descendant of Davids, they did bury him in the city of Jerusalem with the other kings. For the etymology of the name Amaziah, we read the following in Abarim Publications: The name Amaziah consists of two elements. The first part comes from the verb אמץ ss(יames), meaning to be or become strong: The second part of the name Amaziah is the appellative יה (Yah) = יהו (Yahu) = יו (Yu), which in turn are abbreviated forms of the Tetragrammaton; the name of the Lord: YHVH or Yahveh. For a meaning of the name Amaziah, New Open Bible Study Edition (NOBSE) Study Bible Name List reads Yahveh Is Strong, Jones Dictionary of Old Testament Proper Names has Strength Of The LordXi.e. made strong of the Lord, and Brown Driver Briggs (BDB) Theological Dictionary proposes Yah Has Been Mighty.. Now from the Strongs Concordance, where we find that it is Hebrew word number: H558, - אֲמַצְיָה, ssאֲמַצְיָהוּ, - 'ămatsyâh, or 'ămatsyâhû, pronounced - am-ats-yawי or am-ats-yawי-hoo, and means: From H553 and H3050; strength of YAH; Amatsjah, the name of four Israelites: - Amaziah. Total KJV occurrences: 40.. Now from the Smiths Bible Dictionary, where we read: The strength of YHVH. Son of Joash, and eighth king of Judah. He succeeded to the throne at the age of 25, on the murder of his father, and punished the murderers. In order to restore his kingdom to the greatness of Jehoshaphats days, he made war on the Edomites, defeated them in the Valley of Salt, south of the Dead Sea, and took their capital, Selah or Petra, to which he gave the name of Jokteel, i.e., God-subdued. Flushed with his success, he challenged Joash king of Israel to battle, but was completely defeated, and himself was taken prisoner and conveyed by Joash to Jerusalem, which opened its gates to the conqueror. Amaziah lived 15 years after the death of Joash; and in the 29th year of his reign was murdered by conspirators at Lachish, whither he had retired from Jerusalem for safety, II Chronicles 25:27..
